The Drama Continues: Simone Biles Reacts to Gymnastics Scoring Inquiry at Paris Olympics
Simone Biles, the legendary gymnast, is not fazed by the possibility of missing out on another gold medal due to a scoring inquiry mishap in the floor exercise at the Paris Olympics. A behind-the-scenes video from the Netflix documentary series “Simone Biles: Rising” captured the moment when Biles questioned her coach about the status of the inquiry.
In the video, Biles can be seen asking her coach Cecile Landi if an inquiry was submitted regarding her floor routine score. However, it was revealed that the inquiry was not sent in time, ultimately affecting the final results. Biles, who finished with a silver medal, expressed that she wasn’t bothered by the outcome, acknowledging that her competitor, Rebecca Andrade, deserved the win.
Despite the setback, Biles took to Twitter to advocate for fellow teammate Jordan Chiles, who was initially awarded a bronze medal but later had it stripped due to a timing technicality in the scoring inquiry process. Biles tweeted, “But justice for Jordan. Ya hear me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The controversy surrounding the scoring inquiry intensified as Chiles’ attorneys filed an appeal to reverse the decision made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) that resulted in Chiles losing her bronze medal to Romanian gymnast Ana Bărbosu.
