It has been an eventful season for Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever as they made their playoff debut against the Connecticut Sun. While the Sun emerged victorious with a 93-69 win, it was a familiar feeling for the Fever as they struggled to find their offensive rhythm against the veteran Sun team.
Connecticut’s defense was stifling, preventing the Fever from establishing any flow on offense. Despite minimizing turnovers, Indiana struggled to generate quality looks and shot under 40 percent for only the seventh time this season.
Alyssa Thomas once again showed her dominance with a triple-double, while her fiancé DeWanna Bonner anchored the defense and had a productive offensive game. Marina Mabrey also stepped up with five triples, contributing to Connecticut’s success from beyond the arc.
Despite the Sun’s strong performance, the Fever showed resilience and will look to bounce back in Game 2 on Wednesday at Mohegan Sun Arena.
