The Remarkable Rise of Caitlin Clark in the WNBA

Caitlin Clark continues to rewrite the history books in the WNBA. In a recent game against the Atlanta Dream, Clark tied the record for the most made 3-pointers by a rookie in WNBA history, joining Rhyne Howard with 85 made shots from beyond the arc.

Clark’s outstanding performance in the game included 19 points and 7 assists, further solidifying her position as one of the top rookies in the league. Since the All-Star break, she has been averaging 18 points and 8.2 assists per game, ranking her 11th in scoring and first in assists among all players.

Clark’s journey to WNBA stardom began in college, where she set multiple records at Iowa, including the NCAA Division I scoring record and the Big Ten’s all-time assist leader. Single-game assists: Clark set a WNBA single-game record with 19 assists on July 17 vs. the Dallas Wings.

Rookie triple-double: Clark recorded the first triple-double for a rookie in WNBA history on July 6 against the New York Liberty.

Points-rebounds-assists: Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record 400 points, 100 rebounds, and 150 assists in a season.

Assists: Clark broke the record for most assists by a rookie with 247.
