We posed a question to Democratic National Convention attendees in Chicago: If Kamala Harris wins, what is the first thing you want her to do as president?

On the first day in office, I want President Harris to protect the right to safe and legal abortion, guaranteeing a woman’s right to choose. Let’s restore women’s rights and reinstate Roe v. Wade on day one. Additionally, she could expand the child care tax credit for working families and address healthcare access, especially for territories like ours. Legalizing marijuana federally, bringing young people into the White House, and passing universal CROWN Act legislation are all on the wish list. Let’s also tackle price gouging and bring the country back together, uniting all Americans under President Harris’s leadership.
